0381: Reintroducing Red

For more than a decade, red was part of the St. Louis Blues' color scheme. It's been gone since the late '90s, but Mark Mozdziez is looking to bring it back with his concept. Think it works?

Hey guys thanks for the feedback!
The reason why I used the Preds' numbers on these sweaters was because there's three lines on the crest logo. so I decided to try something especially since the Preds stole the Blues' striping with their new unis. ;)

So much potential.... So much.

I agree with Mayhem. The numbers are so original to Nashville there's no need to copy them to another team. But overall I really like the idea of bringing the red back to St Louis.

LOVE this jersey. The only thing that would make it better is if the blue was a shade more royal. Other than that, one of the nicest Blues jerseys I've ever seen!

"But I don't think anyone can be dissatisfied with their current sweaters."

Sorry, Zach Paps, but I've been dissatisfied with their current sweaters for six years. They're a horrible funhouse distortion of the 1998-2007 sweaters.

As for the concepts themselves... a bit much with the white on the blue jerseys, and the blue could stand to be a little lighter.

The horn and arch logos really don't quite match up, mainly because of the differences in the text rings. I'd personally only go with one of them (and as I've always liked the horn logo, I'd lean toward that), but alternatively, I'd alter them both in ways to make them look a bit more uniform, so that it's not as painfully obvious that they were created 14 years apart.

I am a little bit surprised nobody has mentioned the shoulder yolk piping. It would look a lot better if you removed the shoulder yoke piping and changed the letter and number font. Also, this would look better with Royal Blue and make the white logo on the home jersey blue. Besides that, job well done.

To all the people criticizing these designs, saying "They're the Blues, not the Reds", need I point out that they're not the Yellows either, yet yellow is a major part of their colour scheme?

@Mark @DMAHANNA

So I guess, by that logic, you guys want the yellow out too? Just Yzermanize them to royal blue & white? Sorry to sound like a jerk, but unless the Blues ever actually get rid of blue, that argument just doesn't make sense to me.

Staying on topic, I don't like this concept very much. While I would like to see the Blues bring back some red, there's too much white on the home. Also, I'd prefer royal blue to stick around as opposed to navy.

Also, I only used navy because I wanted to make the Blues move forward with their jerseys...not backwards, so I chose the navy instead of royal....also I don't see the sense of having two blue colors on the unis...just like the Winnipeg Jets do. Thanks for the feedback guys!
