0434: Classic Detroit Alternatives
Matt McElroy was not thrilled with the Detroit Red Wings' 2014 Winter Classic uniform. That's putting it mildly. He was so disappointed he came up with not one but four different alternatives that could've worked just as well — or even better. And not one features "vintage white."
Interestingly, the design on the upper right (the opposite of the Wings' 2009 Winter Classic jersey) will be worn in the alumni game prior to the Winter Classic next year. So maybe one wish will come true.

The top right is the by far the best of the four.
Uhhh... if he was so unimpressed by the winter classic uniforms, why would he create one (the top left) that was far more inferior to the actual one? The other 3 are good, though.
The bottom right is my favorite, but the top right runs a CLOSE second... Either one would look amazing. I think that both of the 2014 WC sweaters are kinda ghastly. Too many stripes and a hideous Leaf/crest font on the TML, and I personally think it's ridiculous to put DETROIT and the crest on the front. Not to mention redundant.
Didn't I see a photo somewhere on here that had the top right sweater being used for the Alumni game?
