0244: Long Island Freak Out

Will the New York Islanders move to Brooklyn? If it does happen, Joe Lomma has a suggestion for how to change the logo. Just don't freak out about it.

Given how iconic the Brooklyn Bridge is, this logo on its own works pretty well. However, it seems off when its on the jersey. Maybe its the 3d effect on the font.

Love that the logo incorporates the Brooklyn Bridge. It could use some fine tuning, but it's a great idea and concept!

I'm an Islander fan, and I actually think it looks kinda good. I don't want them to move to Brooklyn though

A solid logo concept. I could quibble about some aspects, and I wouldn't mind seeing updated jerseys based on it, but it's definitely a reasonable update in the event of a move.

Good job.

I think that looks absolutely amazing!

Only suggestion would be to make the background of the logo white when its on the blue jersey? It kinda gets lost, as is

I would like to to see the fisherman wordmark swapped out for this one:

I think that might help make the logo more cohesive, by removing the 3D effect that Alex mentioned. Great concept!

i like it a lot but seems just a little too simple and needs just a little more work. i realize the current jersey and logo are rather simple but that's no excuse. maybe an extra stripe on the jersey, or alternatively colored thread to show the stitching. something... and i'd like to see the right side bridge tower expand outside of the circle making the logo a bit more dynamic.

but still a very nice idea.

I dig this. if the bridge had a while outline it would really pop out. maybe the freedom tower or the empire state to the left of the bridge in the back.

yep, a little fine tuning (maybe a white outline for the orange brooklyn bridge?) & thats all good.....maybe add a 'B' as a shoulder patch??

They can't move to Brooklyn. The arena has "basketball" seating so the rink is three sided. Sad, but true...

If they move to Brooklyn they aren't technically "Islanders" anymore are they? Or is Brooklyn an island also? I've never been to New York so I don't know. It seems a whole new name would be needed.

I agree with Mark ^^ a few comments up, and while including his idea exclude the toothpaste symbol at the bottom and that's a solid concept my friend.

Krendelev, technically they would still be on Long Island. Long Island has 2 boroughs of New York City on it (Brooklyn and Queens) and two separate independent counties (Nassau and Suffolk) so really they could still be the Islanders.

Brooklyn is located on Long Island

Hey is there away you could rework it with the same color scheme as the the Brooklyn Nets. I just see them kind of piggy backing off each other.

This guy called it!

As a diehard Isles fan, I LOVE this concept! My only problem with is it that the logo doesn't seem profound enough. If there was an outline around the bridge, this design would be PERFECT!
