0299: Chill Logo Contest Leftovers
Thursday · Dec 13 · 2012 | 9:00 AM PST 9 Comments
Over the summer, the St. Charles Chill — a new Central Hockey League team — held a fan logo design contest. The winner was announced two weeks ago but I did promise to share any entries that were sent my way. Matt McElroy and Mark Morgan sent in their work. And while neither won the contest, it's worth taking a look.
What do you think of these two options? Is either one better than the winning design?

That first one is great. It really gives an identity rather than just an icy logo.
great creativity in the top logo. the only thing that might be difficult to reproduce on an actual jersey (not that it is going to, unfortunately) is the inner circle fade from blue to grey. in any case i think it's a better logo than a "frozen" C.
that yeti logo is much better than the one which won
I like the snowman concept too. A good take on a difficult nickname. While the "C" is not that original, I still like it better than the one the team picked.
I really like the spike pattern that protrudes from the collar on Mark's design. Something creative that Ive never seen before. Nice..
the yeti is a real sharp design, but I don't think it will look as good on a jersey
The yeti is much better. Would love to see the jersey set . The frozen C isn't all that original, and what's with the wordmark? There's three different things going on there.
The yeti was a great idea but I find his front foot a little awkward. The frozen "C" ok, but I'd still have to say I think it is way better than the chosen "C".
That Yetti design would great for a Seattle jersey! Would love to see what may come of it!
