0306: Black & White Isle

I used to think there was no way to design a good hockey sweater using only black and white. I changed my mind today. This New York Islanders concept by Thomas Hopkins is inspired by the decision of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets to adopt this simple palette when they moved into the building they will soon share with the Isles. (End run-on.) Needless to say, I'm a fan.

I knew someone would do this! I really like the Idea and you did a great job pulling it off but I know all the purist Islander fans would never have this. But I like it if that counts for anything.
not terrible. but it's the black and white phoenix coyotes when they had the bottom stripes, and the number style. ehhh. well executed though.
IMO jersey works
Logo doesn't
no. i didn't like it when ross taylor did the black, white and grey a few freak-out fridays ago and i don't like the black and white now. it has no character. i can understand the whole brooklyn black and white and wanting to match the nets but it just doesn't work here. what is a "net" nothing really it can be anything but an "islander" has color, not to mention a history. if you are to insist on a black and white thing, then change the name. hell, "nets" work. both sports have them.
beyond that, well i agree that it's hard to design a good sweater with just black and white and i think the Blainville-Boisbriand armanda have done it better than anyone else.
The best thing about this is the crest. It's simpler and if anything looks even more "classic" than the original.
Great! If there was a way to keep the original logo, and just make it black and white, I think this would be a solid jersey!
I like it. The logo works fine in b&w and the striping is distinctive. I wouldn't recommend the Isles go the Nets' route, but if they had to, this would be where they ought to take it.
Aweful. Where's the "Isle"? B/W hockey jerseys just don't belong.
The logo just doesn't look right with the black and white configuration. The rest of the jersey looks good, though. If they can find a logo that works with this color scheme, I'd be on board with it.
looks like a bad basketball jersey. isles uniforms are fine they way they are. after 15 plus years of tweaking they finally got it right by sticking to the traditional uniforms. works on LI, will work in BK
I am an islander fan so I'm biased, but these are UGLY
