0026: Green-a-thon, Part IV

Green-a-thon Week is winding down, but in a way, it's just getting started. Since the announcement of a plan to build an arena in Seattle, buzz has been building about the possibility of the NHL to land in the Emerald City. Hm, Emerald City. Seems like the perfect city for a team decked out in green. Keith Welton presents the Seattle Totems — in green! While I may not be totally sold on the logo itself, I'm definitely behind the concept.

If Seattle does get a team, they need to be Blue and Green of some sort like all of their other sports teams. I understand that Vancouver is right across the board but Boston And Pittsburgh play each other four times a season too. Maybe I'm biased because I like Pittsburgh teams, but I like it that all of Seattle teams are Blue and Green.
I actually really like this design. I think green pants instead of black though.
I love the logos and colours. I also like the stripes on the jersey, but I think the hem stripes should match the arm stripes. Or just thin out those hem stripes and run them right along the hem. Great work either way!
These are amazing. Makes me wish a little louder for a Seattle team. Only thing I might do is darken the green a shade and go Navy blue instead of black. Would fit in with the rest of the Seattle based teams color schemes. Never the less outstanding work.
Definitely needs to be smoothed out. But, my God, there is so much potential in some amazingly inspiring sweaters.
I think these look great! The only thing I have to add is maybe black helmets and gloves. I love the solid green.
Looks OK except the logo is from the Seattle Thunderbirds:

Since they already own a logo like this one, you will have to go in a different direction.
I'm not so sure about the talk of putting a Seattle team in green and blue. Besides, the Seahags barely have any green anymore, preferring to go with a dark shade of blue and a gray shade of blue. I'll be pleasantly surprised if the Nike changeover in the NFL includes the scrapping of the "Suicide Blues"...
As for all Seattle teams being green and blue, no. The Mariners are teal and navy ("Northwest green" is just their branding; it's f###ing teal), and the Sonics never had blue; they were green and gold (with a few seasons adding red to the mix, which the WNBA's Seattle Storm has retained, even though the Sonics dropped red in their final years).
The logo looks similar to the current junior Totems, though there are a number of alterations to the design, most notably with the S-mark in the center.
Finally, I couldn't help but notice that that's Ray Whitney of the Coyotes, from this pic: http://l.yimg.com/j/assets/p/sp/getty/ee/fullj.fb57006bf457a69d08916371cef5804c/fb57006bf457a69d08916371cef5804c-getty-138032250.jpg (There are just 4 comments showing as I write this, and no mention of the Yotes in those four.) It's amusing since it's been bandied about since the arena announcement that the Desert Dogs could end up moving there, but the NHL is allegedly close to a deal to secure them in Glendale (although, until the deal is signed, sealed, and delivered, I'm not holding my breath).
@Nick, the logo and uniforms are actually inspired by the original WHL Seattle Totems. Look them up. This is a modern take on a team that once dominated the WHL and tried to join the NHL on two occasions. There is no doubt this team should be the one to enter the NHL, and this design pays great tribute to that team.
