0040: Marooned

This one's just for fun, today. Exactly no one is looking to add a second NHL team in Montreal. And even fewer are eager to rename or rebrand the Canadiens — one of the world's most recognizable brands. But as a flight of fancy, what if the Montreal Maroons ever came back to the NHL? Nick Burton offers his take for our enjoyment. It's cool. And maroon.

I liked this concept because it'd be the only canadian team without the use of Red, white or Blue

Maroon and black is a great hockey color, love the look, and the way the 3rd touches old school

I feel like if you change the shoulder yoke color to black on the home and away, those are the Devils' sweaters in Maroon. They just feel too template-y. I really like the alternate as the striping pattern isn't exactly seen in the NHL right now but I wouldn't make it anything other than a 3rd sweater

Very nice, would look good on the ice.

Andy, you're a little wrong....
Devils jerseys for one don't have spacing between the sleeve striping and waist stripping. The stripe pattern is very common, obviously, so to go based on that and call it template-y is a little redundant. As for the shoulder yokes, the devils have a square shaped yoke, this maroons concept has the generic rounded yoke, with piping around it. Just because the jersey has a slight resemblance to the Devils does not mean you should dis-credit this designer. I think this jersey is very creative, mind you NO team in the chel has an identity close to this one.

As a Montrealer I would not mind a second team at all. There's room for one, without a doubt
