0049: A Classic Midwest Match-up
It's Saturday and that means the start of another Winter Classic Weekend, doesn't it? For the moment we'll all pretty Toronto-ed and Detroit-ed out. So let's look beyond 2013? I bet the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues would make good partners for an outdoor extravaganza — especially, now that the Blues are playing like a good hockey team again. And these two jerseys by frequent IceHL contributor Chance Waddell look fantastic to me. In fact, why do we even need to wait for a Winter Classic to see them? Let's get them on the ice as alternates now!

Chance wrote in the other day to say he revised his Blackhawks Winter Classic jersey to make it "a little less stripey." I think it works both ways. But there you have it.

Forget Winter Classic that St Louis mock up should become thier new home jersey STAT. What a beauty.
I like the Blues jersey, however I feel that the vast majority of the winter classics have gone completely over board with just adding as many stripes to a jersey as possible.
Blues fan here and I really enjoy this Blues concept. I have always thought the retro look on the Blues is fantastic. I would even say scrap the current third for a retro look. The Blackhawks jersey here may have too many stripes. The strip seems to be uneven. The Blues jersey is solid though.
Really like the Blues concept, reminds me of my youth watching my Pens battle the Blues....wish they would go back to that full time! I agree the Blackhawks uni's have too many stripes, although I do like the shout out to Pittsburgh native Brandon Saad...We're not a hockey hotbed here in Pgh but it's nice to finally see the local kids making it to the big clubs. Ryan Malone(TB), Dylan Reese(NYI), RJ Umberger(CBJ), Mike Weber(BUF), George Parros(ANA) just to name a few
How about doing concepts for playoff teams. You could do 8, one for each series
Hey guys thanks for liking these so much! I realize that the Blackhawks jersey has too many stripes but I was trying to make a white version of their overstriped throwbacks from '91-'92. And if you guys like the Blues design that much we could always try to pull off another Jacob Barrette and make this jersey a reality!
Not a fan of the Blackhawks jersey but that Blues jersey is terrific.
@Me: Are you asking me to do concepts for each playoff series? I'm up for it but I'm also a 16 year old using paint on a ten year old computer so they may not turn out the best.
The Hawks jersey is FUN-KY!! It's fun looking, but a litle too much too much.
I would wear THE HECK out of thar Blues sweater, that is the best EVA!!!
I liked the original Chicago design more, but that St-Louis jersey is unbelievable!
