0081: The Sharks Without White

Happy birthday to Icethetics! The blog turns five years old today and we're celebrating the San Jose Sharks as part of California Week here on the Concepts page. Kris Lutes is trying a couple jerseys without using any white. The two sweaters are pretty close to the team's existing uniforms but the white has been replaced with grey. Unfortunately, the name bar on the teal jersey is nearly illegible, but the grey jersey looks great.

I really like the grey as an alternate to white for the away jersey. Orange name plates might be a fix for the illegibility problem.

As a Sharks fan I really like these, very clean concept. Although I've always thought they should replace the orange with grey.

I'm really in favour of non-white away jerseys. It's a bit boring that all teams have plain white. These are great, not only because they are grey, but because the clutter has been removed.

If Kris Lutes wants to do more non-white jerseys I'd suggest a wheat-colored Wild jersey or perhaps a pale blue Blue Jackets jersey to make sure they always wear blue.

These are amazing. Ive always wanted to see the Sharks logo go to a gray shark though to be more realistic. On the gray jersey that wouldnt look good though so maybe the gray could have the fin logo as the main crest. Would love to see this idea expanded to a black alternate jersey. Or could it be possible to see an Orange alternate from the Sharks? No matter what the gray jersey needs to be something the Sharks make a reality along with a return to the original shade of teal. I hope the artist has contacted the Sharks with his vision.
