0134: Go Team Finland!
Sunday · Jul 1 · 2012 | 9:00 AM PDT 7 Comments
For the last few Sundays, I've been featuring concepts with more of an international flavor. So I thought I'd keep it up with the Olympics around the corner. Today, Jekabs Elerts presents a very sharp look for Finland. But it feels incomplete. Where's the Suomi?
By the way, if I had planned ahead better, I would've held last week's Team Canada concept for today to celebrate Canada's Independence Day. Oops. But you can bet on red, white and blue for the Fourth of July.

I love the shoulders. Nice job.
SUOMI should be there. Huge, huge problem with this. Big slap in the face to Finland.
Take out FINLAND, out in SUOMI, and make the background of the nike swoosh white, and I like it.
Also - Chris, as a Canadian, I can say you would never hear any of us say that July 1st is 'Canada's Independence Day' unless trying to explain it to Americans that we feel are too dumb to understand that most countries have a day where they celebrate their country. July 1st is Canada Day, but was known as Dominion Day from 1867 until 1982. We don't celebrate our independence from Britain as much as we celebrate the federation of the original four provinces (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia) into the kingdom of Canada.
.. ahem, sorry, a little extra patriotism is still rubbing off from yesterday.
as an iihf jersey collector, I LOVE THESE CONCEPTS!!.. I do have the email of the head hockey guy from the nike uniform department for the iihf if youd like me to pass it along..
Really liked the color and the design, even the details of the print, for sure the players would be glad to wear that. :)
Aren't the rules in the olympics that you can't use custom logos in uniforms? Therefore you had to use one that exists in a form of coat of arms/flag? So in case of Finland you would need to put the actual coat of arms lion in there (the golden lion on a red shield, with some white flowers around)?
The rules are you cant use federation logos on uniforms.. remember that these could be worn in the world championships too..
