0174: Mixing Eras in Winnipeg
Friday · Aug 10 · 2012 | 9:00 AM PDT 17 Comments
On this Freak Out Friday, we get another blending of brands. This time from Jonathan Tweedle, who has cleverly combined the Winnipeg Jets logo from 1990 with the new one from 2011. And it's definitely freaky. But if the logo isn't enough for you, he's also created a jersey. Alternate, anyone?

I have to say, although the logo is way too busy, I really like the idea of the jet and leaf forming the strips. That's something I have yet to see and think it works very well.
Remember the Flames jersey with the diagonal lines from the bottom left to the "C"? Well use those lines for the Jet and adjust the plane accordingly
Love it! No criticism at all here.
The design was destined to be cluttered to begin with, what with the lettering on top of an already complex maple leaf, so why all the extra stripes in the words? It's generally hard on the eyes.
I'm actually liking it...
The logo is too busy for me.. but that striping! So clever!
The logo itself is a little busy for my liking. Interesting idea, though. What I really do like is the jet and maple leaf striping. Really nice touch. I'm a fan of the creative striping (like the flags at the bottom of a canes jersey, as much as I hate Carolina)
This reminds me of the black and orange Canucks logo. Neither are good.
The logo is not bad but it looks too busy.
The jersey could use some work, but this may be the best Jets hybrid logo I've seen!
Not bad, but IMO the logo's got a little too much going on it, and I think it would look much better without the maple leaf behind it.
Great job!!! Love the jet/maple leaf on the bottom, incredible idea
This is actually pretty AWESOME
"eh" on the logo, but i do like the striping with the jet and maple leaf.
Love how the logo combines elements of the old and current logos! The unique striping works really well at the bottom of the jersey but not the arms. I'd prefer the traditional look of the shoulder patch on the shoulder and the player number on the arms.
i like it, maybe a touch busy...but its something different...love the bottom leaf and jet idea....hope the owners see this!
Reminds of an ECHL promo night jersey....although not necessarily in a bad way.
