0348: Two Blues for Tampa Bay

We've seen lots of great color schemes for the Tampa Bay Lightning on the Concepts page over the years. But Stephen Griesmer's might be one of the best that doesn't utilize black. The two-tone blue color scheme is really quite striking.

Great design. Automatically gave it a lower rating, though, since the double blue shade is done to death.

I really love the white (minus the darker blue in the middle of the logo) , and the third is very cool too. Not sure about the home though. Good work!!!

Other than the blue background on the logo, these are fantastic.

Put the Tampa Bay victory stripes in place and you have a 5/5!

It reminds me of the current Jets jersey... if you were to swap the logos on the 3rd and the home, it would almost be identical. Not a bad thing per se, just a comment.

The current Lightning jerseys are awesome in my opinion.

These are OK, but not nearly as good as the real deal.

The two blues really add more depth to Tampa's jerseys. Loving the third and the stripes on the away jersey.

Haha! Striking! Clever lad!

But I have to agree, two tone blue looks pretty good. Not so much a fan of the alternate jersey. But good work

Ah, I need my black in there. I'm too used to the black Lightning.

Awesome. I'm a huge fan. I don't even like the Lightning, but would wear that. Great work!

Very nice work! I want to presume it looks like he was inspired by the recent pic put up on the site with the Lightning's current third with the additional shoulder patch, as that looks to be a different tone of blue than the rest of the jersey. And quite frankly, they should go with something like that as they look too much like the Leafs with just blue and white.

Two tone blue certainly works. Would be interested to see if it would work as well with black, though.

As you well know, I've been pushing the BRING BACK THE BLACK movement as much as I can... but, after seeing this, I have to say I'm shocked at how great it looks. Very well done! But please, if us Bolts fans do nothing else, can we please start campaigning to bring back the victory stripes?!

One other thing I was thinking about: as you know, we also redesigned the shoulder patches on the home and away uniforms to be a simple lightning bolt with the words tampa bay lightning hockey club. While my first instinct was to remove all of it, I realized that owners seem pretty dead set on this concept. So, what if we at least bring back the State of Florida outline that we used to have on our old uniforms?? Lets keep some of our heritage! State of florida on the shoulders, and victory stripes under the arms!

Sold! This is how the Lightning should look! Modern and retro at the same time and i like the use of the shoulder patch instead of the team's nickname on the front. Are you paying attention Stevie Y?
