0366: Reviving the Americans

As we embark on our second year of concept posts, I've got a new theme for this week. We're going to be looking at reviving old hockey franchises. Imagine we live in an alternate universe where it was the New York Americans that emerged as the Big Apple's dominant NHL franchise. Imagine the Rangers merged with the Americans and adopted their name 70 years ago. That's what Matt McElroy has done with today's concept.

i think this falls under the "things they would never have to change" catagory. it would stand the test of time the way it is, much like the sweaters for the red wings, blackhawks, canadiens, etc.

It looks too much like the Rangers' uniforms to me.

It's not perfect, but close. The New York on the ribbon is too small.

Looks just like the Rangers white jersey but with the shoulders from their Winter Classic jersey. Definitely a solid concept though. Agree that the "New York" is too small, maybe put and N and Y where the small stars are in the blue part of the shield.
