0368: Reviving the Tigers

The Hamilton Tigers played in the NHL for five season from 1920 to 1925. Lately you can't seem to avoid talk of Hamilton returning to the NHL mix, so why not as the Tigers? Ryan Haslett designed this look, which would work as a great retro third jersey.

I absolutely love what you've done with the numbers on the back.

Most of the jersey looks pretty sharp...I'm just not a fan of the logo. Was that ever used by Hamilton? Or did someone just google "rorschach test" and that's what popped up?

Like the jersey idea
I wonder what it would look like with a modernized logo

The execution is great, as always with Ryan. I love the striping, and the numbers. The only negative is the logo. To me, it reminds me of a silhouette of an animal cracker. If the tiger had a more defined shape, I think it would be perfect.

Taylor: They used it, but as a detailed logo, not the silhouette. http://nhluniforms.com/DefunctTeams/Tigers2.html

Actually, play around with the silhouette a bit to make it a little more distinct, and I think you have a winner. I can certainly see how a still existent tigers team might have settled on that look, and if that was around today, I think we'd consider it an unimpeachable classic design.
