0385: Pennsylvania Classic

You know this is coming. The NHL and NBC love the Pennsylvania teams, so it's only a matter of time before they meet up in the Winter Classic. And when they do, Nick Burton has a neat pair of jersey designs for them to wear.

I like the Pittsburg jersey and hate the Flyers one, and I'm more of a Flyers fan.
Not bad jerseys. In my opinion they wouldn't look good on the ice together though.
I can't put a finger on exactly why, but for some reason that Pens jersey is just super appealing to me.
i guess the designs are ok, i just care so little about seeing either of these teams in another winter classic that i just can't care about these designs.
Am I the only one sick of seeing these two as perennial (preferential?) Winter Classics? There's a whole league out there that you can dream up faux-retro logos. I would like to plead a six month ban, on any and all retro designs for ANY team that has been in the Classic twice, from April of this year til the start of the new season in October.
Keystone Classic has a pretty nice ring to it
I know they have already been in it twice each but 105,000 fans at this rivalry in Beaver Stadium would be a pretty amazing atmosphere.
Love the idea of a Keystone Classic, but I am NOT a big fan of the Quakers-esque throwback for the Flyers. Something about it, in both this black version and the orange asian knockoff version that still floats around on eBay provoke a visceral reaction in me. It's both the diagonal script and the bumble-bee striping on the sleeve... It just looks wrong for the Flyers on too many levels. I get that it's a homage to the Quakers, but I'd have to throw down a very opinionated "NO" on it if I were the approving official (which, of course, I am not).
The Pens jersey, however, is surprisingly appealing. The striping is not to my taste (five stripes too much, although I see what he was going for in taking from the previous ice blue designs out there). But that yellow gold works for a one-off, especially with the diagonal Pittsburgh text. Love the simplicity of the commemorative patch, too.
