0412: Another Brooklyn Freak Out
Friday · Apr 5 · 2013 | 9:00 AM PDT 9 Comments
Ever since the announcement that the Isles will play in Brooklyn in a few years, the concepts haven't stopped. Black and white. Brooklyn. But almost every look — despite ending up in a Freak Out Friday post — has been very interesting, including this one by Dan Capostagno. I'm not a fan of the lack of color, but there's got to be something here. Maybe a new third jersey a few seasons from now?

It's decent design. I'd love to see a colour version
I really like the Shoulder logo!
I agree, Matt, the lighthouse is smooth!
Nice concept but why does the nameplate say Callahan?
Shoulder logo is awesome! Primary logo is essentially a copyright violation, and one that'd never be considered.
That shoulder patch is genius! I'd love to see a color version on the shoulder of their current jerseys.
Absolutely love the shoulder patch. Really like the subtle "B" in the lighthouse. I'd like to see what it might look like in color, but I do actually like it as it is (it could work as a shoulder patch on the current third jersey - the Isles' alternate jersey is terrible, but at least it'd be a nice patch). A colorized version would likely make it usable on the home and away set; if nothing else, it'd look awesome at center ice.
Make them look like the Nets? May as well make the Stars look like the Cowboys.
Why do so many people feel the need to copy the Nets logo and colors when thinking of a new logo for the Islanders? Almost all NBA/NHL teams that share arenas don't have the same color scheme (Chicago and DC (sort of) being the only exceptions), never mind the same logo.
The secondary logo would be cool in the Isles colors, and would be a nice homage to their new borough.
