0469: A Star-Studded Classic

So this was my attempt at including the Stars in a Winter Classic Weekend post indirectly. It's a Minnesota North Stars jersey here from Nick Burton. But maybe the Stars could wear something North Stars-inspired if they ever got to play in an outdoor game. It can happen. Right?
What about an opponent for the North Stars? There's no really good rival that comes to mind for this franchise, so I just opted for a Leafs/Arenas jersey here, also created by Mr. Burton.

Stars-Wild would make the most sense I believe. Put Dallas and Minnesota at Target Field, and you have a perfect backdrop. Leafs/Arenas just isn't the best choice I think. Nice jerseys though.
History-wise, either the Wild or the Sharks would make the most sense as a Dallas opponent. And the Sharks and Stars could both wear Seals jerseys. haha
I agree with Stars/Wild being the natural matchup. However, the history complicates the uniforms a little bit because I'm 99% sure that if an opposing team wore the sacred North Stars jerseys back into Minnesota there would be a minor riot (or what with Minnesota Nice and all, probably just a small backlash and nostalgia explosion) and Norm Green would need to stay far clear of the state! Even at today's Wild games, North Stars jerseys/hats/t's make up 20% of apparel.
Stars / Sharks all the way, but back in Minnesota wearing North Stars and Seals jerseys!
Of course if we're going that way I'd also like to see the Devils dressed in retro Colorado Rockies against the Avalanche, or take to Jacob's Field against the Sharks and dust off a retro Scouts jerseys while the Sharks rock some Barons merchandise. But that would only happen here on the Icethetics as the Devils already have retro red/green waiting to bust out.
Love both the North Stars / Arena's concept jerseys, especially forgoing vintage white on Toronto.
