0470: Predicting a New Storm
We're taking a break from International Sundays this week for a look at what our concept artists are predicting for the Carolina Hurricanes' uniform unveiling on Tuesday. The team has released a series of teaser photos over the last 10 days and that's what a lot of these designs are based on. First up is a little something from newcomer Magnus Björk.
Kevin Mueller sees things slightly differently. This is his take.
And finally, Bryan Dyck came up with this — albeit earlier on during the Canes' teaser reveals. Which one do you think will end up being the closest to the actual design? Remember, the unveiling takes place Tuesday at noon ET.

If the actual jerseys are like these, then it looks like Carolina is moving backwards. So bland and boring.
The second one is like a weird mix of Florida Panthers, Winnipeg Jets and Team Canada
It's interesting that two of the designers have the stripes swapped from how I pictured it in my head upon seeing all of the teasers (and the third designer's mock-up is obviously from before the second set of stripes were revealed)... I thought from the team's photos that the double white/red stripe would be the sleeve stripe and that the wide red, thin white, thin black would be the bottom stripe, with the possibility that the entire bottom segment (below the stripe) of the jerseys could be black.
Of these, I prefer Kevin's design. However, I agree with "Your Face" that Carolina may have gone too old school with their redesigns...I will miss the hurricane warning striping if it is, in fact, gone, but at least they survive on the alternate.
At first I thought just like U too Drew, but then I saw something interesting on photo with the white crest. If U look at the right side U can see parts of the sleeve, that's looks like third photo. And if U look at the photo of the glove, U can see a bit of the sock and it looks like the red/white strips.
Wow ....underwhelmed to say the least, way to go bland guys !! MAJOR downgrade !
Last night, I attempted to do another concept of what I think the jersey would look like. I analyzed the Instagram pictures, and sat their for 30 minutes confused to hell. Home and Away jerseys have different styled jerseys, the away has a red shoulder, but the shoulder doesn't come down as far as it usually should for Reebok. I actually got really frustrated because I couldn't think of anything. They are doing a wonderful job leading up to this unveiling, and props to them because just off these pictures, it looks nice, and I still also have no idea what it will look like.
