It is a design that does say, "Canada" when you take a glance at it, even without the logo on the front. It's something that can be seen as a next possible look for the country.
Beautiful. Simple and effective, I agree that this says Canada even without the logo. I'm not sure about the black outline on the numbers, but that's just me nitpicking.
It's NOT a design that says Canada. The striping says CCCP (if you're older) or at least Coyotes, especially with that logo angle (coyote looking upper right with mouth open). Step away from looking only at the flag. Canada is definitely red and black.
Wait, is this Reebok or Nike? If you want to do Reebok, finish the arm stripes please.
I don't like it. Their old uniforms perfectly honored the Carolina Hurricanes. It sucks big time to see them move away from that.
In all seriousness, this is essentially a re-coloring of the Leafs alternate jersey with a different logo. Not bad, but not great.

Canada needs to stop wearing black. We have two colours on our flag - red and white. Those should be the only colours on our uniforms.
Take the bottom thin stripe off the body and this quite literally is an old CCCP jersey. Give me the iconic Hockey Canada logo (maple leaf with the player diagonally dividing the red and black) and I'd settle with it.
@Tyler: while that makes sense, remember that every Italian and Japanese national team wears blue, despite neither country having blue on its current flag. While I agree that Team Canada should just be red and white, it isn't a "rule".
Australia's sports colors are green and gold - very sharp. The flag is still Union Jack-based.
While we're at it, there's no navy in the USA flag...
I'm aware of Italy and Japan and Australia. I've never understood why they wear those colours either. But at least they're so far off base. But Canada just adding black in bugs me. ESPECIALLY when there's not currently any black in the jersey . Red pants with a two thin side by side white stripes on the oustide of each leg and red gloves with a white cuff - that would make the uniforms as far as I'm concerned.
I totally agree with Tyler. In the 80's, Canada inexplicably added blue (to the pants) and now they keep adding black details. I'd love to see a totally red and white concept. If there is a need for a 3rd colour, maybe a bit of silver.
