0517: Music City Freak Out

This one's a pretty good freak out. Jonathan Pelton apparently like stripes. And single-digit sweaters. But in fairness to Jonathan, he says his goal was to implement the old style striping of hockey sweaters into a more modern design. Probably should keeping trying.

if the preds ever decided they didn't like playing on ice any more and became a soccer team instead, i would love to see this on the pitch.
I wont lie, I think this would make a really interesting third jersey. I actually like it, could be better, but overall, I think it's pretty cool.
Looks like a band conductor's uniform. For trying to be out there and modernizing old-time striping, I think Jonathan actually succeeds in that regard. However, the space with the shoulder number would be better served with the primary logo (or even enclosed in a roundel form) as: 1) shoulder numbers in general are redundant and tired, 2) the cat head logo is absent altogether, and 3) the number itself is just lost with the top stripe.
And if Nashville is the example, then the 6-string motif should be preserved - if you take out the very top and bottom two stripes, you at least get something that goes along with the music city theme.
I actually kind of like it1
ohh....didnt know nashville had a MLS team.....sorry, waaaay too soccer jersey-ish.
Nothing like a Fender 9 string Telecaster.
I appreciate the comments.
Yes, I understand that striped jerseys fit better into soccer right now, but I've always thought that hockey teams should try to dig back into their past and bring back the striped jerseys that characterized the earliest years of the nhl. A few have tried it, but it's really hard to make stripes look good on a hockey jersey. I think that by making the stripes a little thicker, and using them selectively (instead of forcing them all the way up, down and around the jersey) they could be a really bold look. Course, I might not have hit that here, but I'd love to see what some real graphic artists who know what they're doing could do with these ideas.
@John Snow, when I saw it, my first thought was that it was supposed to represent guitar frets, not strings. Glue some machineheads on the helmet and they've really got something.
Not a good hockey design, but if you look at it right, that would make a pretty nice soccer kit, don't you think?
