0539: Frozen Ice & The L.A. Sun

Like many people, I'm eager to see how the NHL makes a sheet of frozen ice work outside in southern California. But until then, we have to wonder what the Kings and Ducks will wear when they take that Dodger Stadium ice (weird string of words right there). Alex Hackert presents a couple of throwback-inspired designs today.

Lose the pit stains and it's perfect !

If they can make ice in 80° weather in late September in Las Vegas, then ice can be made in Los Angeles in late January.

Someone send this concept to Anaheim management, that should be the jersey they wear for every away game, with an eggplant counterpart for home games.

I literally have no complaints about either of these designs. Hell, I think that Anaheim should make a "dark" version of that jersey and use them as home and road starting this October!

There's so much I could say, yet very little.

This could not be any more perfect.

I don't see any additional creativity on these two particular jerseys versus a date when they were originally created, by pasting an old " Kings " Gretzky's era logo on an existing " Kings " layout ( sleeve piping looks terrible, by the way ) or by removing a gray from " Ducks "original color scheme. White armpits looks very unpleasant on " Kings " jersey. For that special event being scheduled at Dodger Stadium - " Kings " should be dressed in gold and purple with a crown served as crest. " Ducks " are just simple and perfect when they were " Mighty Ducks " of Disney - let it be that way then...

Quick and Fasth. Clever!

Would like to see the crest in gray on the Kings jersey. Love the Ducks look.

I always thought the "Mighty Ducks" was an embarrassment to hockey, so anything representing that I dislike. The Kings however, I would like to see them go back to the original purple and gold, or do some sort of Dodger like uniform, the Ducks could go LA Angels in the Stadium Series

love these jerseys and logos, but I think the Kings should wear the burger king jerseys and the Ducks wear the duck shooting out of the ice.

This would be my ideal choice for Anaheim. But I would love to see Los Angeles in the purple throwbacks they used last season against Vancouver or even a reverse scheme with a yellow primary and purple paneling.

Great jersey set, almost perfect, but where are the Canuck-Sens concepts ?

really cant stand the disney ducks logo, but if you want a 'retro' jersey for a team thats still fairly young in NHL terms, then thats probably what we'll see. unless they use a white version of the old 3rd word-mark jersey, that would be much better (anything but THAT disney logo)!!!

Thank for the feedback everyone. I wanted to put together something the teams might realistically wear for the Dodger Stadium game. I live in so-cal (equidistant from Staples and Honda Center) so this is what I thought local fans would like and what the teams would want to sell to them. I almost incorporated some Dodgers and Angels elements, but I don't think we'll actually see that for the game.

To be honest, if the Kings don't wear a Dodgers style jersey and the Ducks don't wear an Angels style jersey, then they're doing it wrong
