0574: Stadium Threads, Chicago

The presentation may leave a little to be desired, but take a look at the actual designs. Jamie Robertson's proposal for the Chicago-based Stadium Series game is kind of interesting. (Though I know at least one Penguins fan who's about to go off in the comments!) What I find interesting is the looks from two completely different eras — not to mention a Hawks jersey that's out of thin air. This one may be a little out there but it certainly caught my eye.

0525: Stadium Series Chicago

The Blackhawks host the Penguins at Soldier Field next winter as part of the NHL's new Stadium Series. But what should they wear? John Elbertson pictures a game without white jerseys. And why not? Red versus gold would look good!

One of four Stadium Series games next winter will have the Chicago Blackhawks on hosting duty. Dylan Wonka has an idea for a jersey for the big outdoor game. Seems a bit inspired by what the Hawks wore the last time around.

On this Winter Classic Weekend, we look far into the future. All the way into 2015. Joe Lomma is predicting a outdoor game at Busch Stadium between the Blues and Blackhawks. It could happen. I like the logo and the St. Louis sweater. Chicago? Really not a fan of that much vintage white.

Back to the Blackhawks for Game 4. Here's a pretty solid uniform set from Josh Gold. However, the lack of any stripes around the waist make me want to scream "Reebok!" Anyone else? Just me?

0480: Remaking the Blackhawks

With the 2013 Stanley Cup Final getting underway tonight, I thought it time to break out this Blackhawks classic. Slavo Kiss (also known as Sigma Kappa) is a talented artists who's had a lot of amazing work posted here on Icethetics over the years. This Chicago concept is another one of them. It's dated 2009 but I don't think I've ever posted it on the site. I just stumbled on it cleaning up old files. I know it's sacrilege to consider changing the Hawks' look, but you have to admit this is a sharp design.

On Wednesday, the NHL announced the first of reportedly six outdoor games next winter as part of the 2014 Stadium Series. Among them will be the Chicago Blackhawks hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins.
