0056: Philly Classic Mulligan

Since we missed out on a Ross Taylor concept this week for a special Friday the 13th posting, I'm giving the first half of this Winter Classic Weekend to Ross. Some time ago, he put together a couple of jerseys for the 2012 Winter Classic between the Flyers and Rangers. An improvement over what we actually saw or not?

I dislike the philly one (not bringing my penguins bias into it), but because the only thing changed from the 2010 winter classic jersey is the small stripe of black under the orange on the shoulders, and I think the Rangers 2011 winter classics are one of the best.

Not trying to be a dick, but I've een some of his other concepts were really good, like to see him get more creative.

As a huge Ranger fan, I was not in love with their Winter Classic uni. I liked the color and striping, but the shield, at least to me, isn't something that belongs on a Ranger jersey. That being said, I love this Ranger concept! It is too similar to their home sweaters to be considered (because the NHL wants jersey sales) but I think it sticks with the identity of the team more than the sweaters they wore on January 2nd at Citizens Bank Park. As for the Flyers, it looks very similar to their current roads as well.

Not really any difference from what they normally wear...

Those designs are pro. I love the flyers design. it's a great mix of the classic inform and a more modern take on it. The Rangers uniform also looks awesome!!

A lateral move in my opinion. That being said, they look awesome. Philly's really tough to come up with something new and fresh, ditto for the Rangers. The white shoulders on the Rangers jersey are cool though.
