0615: Pete Picked the Canes
Can't break the streak! At 615 days, Icethetics continues to have a brand new concept posted every day — even if it is a little late sometimes. I normally schedule these in advance and somehow completely skipped over Oct. 24, so I had to throw this post together as soon as I got home tonight.
I asked Twitter to decide which team would be featured. The first to respond was Peter Dewar (@pdewar18) and he picked the Hurricanes. And I just happened to have this beauty from Jack Vignavong on hand. Come on Canes, why couldn't you have done this and saved us all a lot of grief?
By the way, due to the late hour of this post, I'm delaying Friday's until about 2pm PT — so don't freak out when you don't see a new one in the morning. (See what I did there?)

The streak is saved! Thanks much, Pete! Dang...615 days (616 counting today)...how do you do it, Chris? That's a little over a year and a half! According to calculations, you've kept it up since February 2012. Keep it up, it's great!
And speaking of great....whew...this concept is an eyefull...and in a good way, if the term is considered derogatory. They should have never taken those warning flags off of the hems...so tragic. That and the grey highlight is what I think made the original Carolina Hurricanes identity unique. I hope they bring back these elements sometime in the future.
This is a fantastic set. The 'Canes should have done it EXACTLY this way!
This looks great!! The only thing I would do different is add a thin little black stripe in between the stripes on the sleeves (on the red and white sweaters). I feel that it would tie the black of the bottom, and the black of the collar together nicely.

As a Canes fan, I like 'em, though the flags on the black need to be red and black. I've never liked that about the black uniforms- it makes sense because it's a hurricane flag. Without the color, it's just a square motif.
