0508: Eggplant Revival
Matt McElroy has been all over the IceHL Project lately. He's had five logos adopted by the league — and now leads all designers in that area — and submitted plenty of jersey designs. So why not let him take over the Concepts page for a day as well? Here we have his take on a Ducks jersey involving the return of eggplant and that classic duck mask. I still think it's a bit dark with all that black. What about you?

I'd like to see this with the gold replaced by the old green.
Wow this ones old I sent it back with my Icethetics Christmas sweater I forgot it Existed.
It's a weird look, but it adds a lot of spice to a uniform desperately lacking it. (Not sure it's the worst set in the NHL, that's probably the Flames or Panthers at this point, but it is certainly the blandest, now that Dallas has rescued themselves.) Chris is right about this being quite dark, but perhaps a contrasting shoulder yoke and some sleeve numbers would balance it the rest of the way?
Old green for gold would be cool. Also, the black jersey actually works.. But ya would like to see those three colours together Jade, Orange, Eggplant.

W ow, that's a nicely balanced color palette. I'd be curious to see version with the eggplant purple as the primary color - I'm a Kings fan, so I'm displeased with the Ducks sporting black sweaters.
Wow I actually like this alot. However I agree with others, love to see Jade replace the gold, also having only one shoulder patch looks a bit naked so either add the webbed D to the left shoulder or the logo patch they use on their current 3rd's. Other than that it looks sick.
People need to stop mixing the jade/eggplant combo with the current black/orange/gold combo. First of all, "jade" and "eggplant" are ugly, dull colors, and the "gold" isn't even really gold. None of it works at all.
I really like this, could see it on the ice for sure.
Make the jersey eggplant and the cuffs/hem jade and you get an incredible out of me.
