0507: Philly Blackout

I never liked the black Reebok Edge jerseys the Flyers started wearing in 2007. But I almost always like anything Nick Burton submits. So this was tricky. A black Flyers jersey from Nick. Somehow, though, I like this one. It's all in the striping, of course. But it's a sharp look. Third jersey, anyone?

I'm with Chris. As a Flyers fan, we're the Orange and Black, not the Black and White and an Accent Color. This seems to have a reasonably good balance, though, and while I normally don't like jerseys with split-color sleeves like this, it works better here than most of the time. They remind me an awful lot of the All-Star jerseys from the early '90s (I know HTML linking isn't cool, but NHL Uniforms has what I'm talking about. They're the 89-91 and 93 uniforms.)

I wonder if the jerseys would be too dark if you switched the orange and the white on everything but the logo and the name?

I agree that the Flyers should be Orange. I hated when they went to black. However, this would be a great third. I would be scared they would switch it to primary if they used it though.

I hate the Flyers and usually hate black jerseys, but with the white and orange trim it really looks great, nice work

The Flyers should never ditch Orange as their primary however this would make a fantastic looking 3rd jersey. As a Flyers fan I'd love to see that on the ice and I agree with Chris it's all about that striping. Only thing I would ditch is the striping around the cuff, leave it black and let the orange stripe touch the white so it outlines it without the black space.
