Collection 10: The East Coast
As the title would indicate, with today's concept post on this the first Hockey Day in America, we're sticking to the Eastern Conference — but not excluding Canada. Been receiving a lot of really creative artwork lately that should garner some interesting feedback.
So let that ruminate a bit. Long Island Hockey Club... a more overt NJ... and so on. Then leave your feedback in the comments. One thing, though...
At the moment, comments on concept posts are unmoderated. I'm trusting you guys. Please remember that these artists spent time and creativity on the work above. If you don't like it, you're entitled to that opinion, but please be thoughtful when unleashing it on the world. Be constructive with your criticism or don't offer any. Especially if you've never submitted work yourself. Just some things to keep in mind.

- Interesting logo on the Isles uni, but maybe as a secondary patch on a third jersey at best. I think the Isles have one of the best home/road combinations in the league and it will be very difficult to improve on that.
- I've always wanted to see a well executed black New Jersey... er... jersey. This is on the way. I like the concept with some tweaks.
- Same as I said on the last Sens concept, the black uniform only has one option left. The "O" uniform.
- I like the more simplified jersey on te Carolina one, but I'm not a fan of the logo.
- Tough to pull off a yellow jersey with that crest. It relies on yellow too much and looks a bit muddled. I'd like to see Boston tackle another yellow jersey though.
What's up with Islanders jersey and Henrik Sedin's name and number on the backs??? otherwise it's a good attempt at NYI concept.
I'm not really digging the NYI jersey designs, but I do really like that logo but only if it were used as a shoulder patch. Way too many teams have circular logos as main crests on jerseys. The Senators concept is pretty cool.
Interesting take on the Canes jersey. One issue I have with it is the inclusion of South Carolina on the secondary logo. The team isn't anywhere near SC and I can assure you they don't care about the Hurricanes.
thats sens concept is nice. the islanders is good too, just get rid of the "long island hockey club" around it. too many teams are already doing the "club" logo..
Is it true that Captain Lou said that as long as he was in charge, there would never be an alternate jersey for the Devils? I love this concept. Red is good but what say they spice it up a bit?
As unoriginal as this post is going to be... I have the agree with everything that MITCHELL HART said. He still the words from my mouth.
That Senators jersey looks spectacular. And no the only option for a Black Sens jersey is not using the "O" crest. Why? It was a different team.
hmmm.....what a mixed bag here. The Isles concepts look good for the most part, but enough with the circular logos. The Isles are a team that could get away with a baseball style script a la the NY Mets. As a Devils fan I LOVE LOVE LOVE the black jersey,Ive said for years that theyre overdue for a uniform tweak, this is perfect! The Sens one looks cool enough, but here s a team that has way too many uniform changes, considering their relatively short history in the league. Mitchell nailed it,unless the new unis feature a big O and the old style striping, dont bother changing for the sake of change. Carolina's? ummmm,NO. Subliminally,it reminds me of the Habs. And Jeff was right, whats the point of having South Carolina on any logo? Boston doesnt need another yellow jersey, especially one that seems more suited to a junior team. Chilliwack Bruins, maybe? If they were to break out the yellow,it would have to include the spoked B.
Do you not post logos anymore? All the past bunch of posts have been are jerseys. My favourite type of concept is the kind with a well-rendered, well thought out logo, but for a long time all it's been are jerseys, many of which have fairly poor logos. That's not to say all of them are.
JackFr: Your complaint seems rather unwarranted. When concept artists design new logos with their jerseys, I always include them. But one thing you have to keep in mind that "well-rendered, well thought out logos" are usually designed by professionals or talented individuals with professional aspirations. Some of them have been burned in the past by losers who steal artwork from this site and either use it without permission or worse, claim it as their own.
Anyway, I can only post what gets submitted to me so there's no point in complaining about what you see unless you have something of your own to offer.
My "complaint" was more in regards to the lack of logo-only concepts in the past few weeks rather than me being outraged about it. It was a legitimate question; for all I knew the new "concept collection" system was jerseys-only. On that note, how many logos do you get sent in? Are the stealing concerns regarding professionals who have sent in work or a reason people haven't?
Also, I have sent a folder's worth. Check your email for jackfr67@live.com.
I really like the colors in the Lighthouse logo. I'd really love to see that (minus the words) as a shoulder patch or third jersey logo. I really think a lighthouse is the perfect ALT logo for the Islanders, the only problem is that it kind of hints at the failed lighthouse project, but the team has to move on from that. All in all, i really like the colors, and still love that lighthouse logo
That islanders logo maybe from their fish sticks era but I think it's a great secondary logo... And I like the sound of "long island hockey club".
That's sens design is nearly perfect! I would love to see my sens wear that, just tweak the gold colour back to the shade they have now and were set!!!!
I gotta say I like the bruins design too, I really dig their crest with the bear, too bad they don't wear it on a nice jersey....
Before I forget to say it, I wanted to just sugget to all you aazing designers out there, I would LOVE to see more BRUINS concepts. They seem to be pretty rare. We seem to see plenty of Ottawa, Dallas, Jersey, Washington etc.. but the B's are few and far between. Anyway, as for the concepts here, I gotta say as usual, you guys did a really nice job. The Islanders was a very nice looking jersey, i's definitely be happy with that as an Isles fan. I've always had a soft spot for the orange and blue of the Islanders because my youth hockey team TRI-CITY wore the same colors. I also thought the Devils jersey was a really nice way to keep the classic Devils look alive but add a new edge to it. All of them were done well, period. The Bruins concept was cool, although it is so tough to use that logo with a yellow uni, just cuz of the amount of yellow is over whelming. However, I wanna see all the B's concepts as i can. Maybe even try it with the original Brown and Gold. Maybe utilizing the solid B with no spokes, i dunno just suggestions. Or of course you could mess around with a bear.
I love that Sens concept. The striping is awesome, good work on that one!
I'm a fan of the primary on that Hurricanes concept, but not so much on the 2 states as the shoulder patch. The C and the H are pretty clever and it does accurately reflect the proper use of two flags for a hurricane warning. Only thing is that it coincidentally bears a similar design to the Habs logo now.
The three team most in need of help are the Devils, Hurricanes, and Senators....... great look for the Devil in the concept. I like the Isles concept as a third jersey. I am glad they went back to their roots with the current style. The logo would be awesome as a shoulder ptach on the traditional uni
