Collection 17: No Pinching

It's a day reserved for drinking and wearing green. There's nothing I can do to help you with the drinking part, but maybe you'll like some of these green concept jerseys.
Of course don't forget that the New Jersey Devils will crack out their 1980s throwback sweater — a swell mix of red and green — for one night only this season. That'll be tomorrow when they host the Capitals (they're in Ottawa tonight). They Devils wore them for the first time since 1992 last season on St. Patrick's Day.
Saw someone mention in the comments a desire for a green Quebec concept, then realized I had one filed away for a rainy day. Let it rain!
Happy St. Patrick's Day from Icethetics!

I like the Ducks one. It puts the current shoulder patch to good use, it would have been better if it just has the mighty ducks logo with no oval surrounding it.
It'd be pretty sweet if the Caps wear their Winter Classic jerseys for a true throwback game against the Devils on Friday night!
Mike....come on....you know that wordmark doesn't work with straight striping, AND you know it doesn't work as a front of jersey crest....AND you know that as long as Dallas owns those colors, they will do everything they can to block the NorthStars color scheme from coming back to Minnesota. Adam: nice work...you made the minimalist striping (a la dallas stars) actually look good. I think it works because the forest green is such a good color, and the red is striking enough to make a big impact in a little way. All the rest were just "meh" for me...the ducks was a little too much green...maybe a more muted shade with that orange would work....idk i haven't been a fan of anything from the ducks ever since they got rid of the disney sweaters.
Despite my burning hatred for the Ducks, I loved all of these.
The league needs more green! I'll be sure to wear my Wild alternate jersey today, because after all, nothing says St Patrick's Day like a Czech hockey player! :p
The Dallas jersey has a sophisticated flair to it, with those two muted greens interacting. Well done. Happy Saint-Patrick's day!
What's with the extra white stripe above the original white, green, white combo on the Devils sock? Is that keeping tradition or the artists mishap?
It's a bit odd that the NHL doesn't currently have a team rocking a Roughriders or Packers colour scheme
Blue Blooded: Matt's concept is exactly what the Devils wore last year and will wear again tomorrow.
@ John D
I was thinking the same thing yesterday... the NHL has teams rocking Blue and white (leafs, lightning for next season), as well as red and white (wings)... I think green and white would look really sharp. maybe for Quebec City if they get a team, or even Winnipeg. If Toronto gets a second tem, then it would be a no brainer for them to use green and white, drawing on the St. Pat's history.
The Ducks jersey is reminiscent of the real original one worn back in the first movie. That one was never really suitable as a professional jersey, but I always thought it'd be cool had they made that into a third.
that wild jersey is sooooo coool. we need to find out some way to make that a jersey, i really like the wilds old green jersey and their new third, but this green one trumps them both. the red home jersey just doesnt do it for me, i wish they wouda stuck with the green ones
i'm a huge fan of the ducks one
It's so fitting that this, on St. Patrick's Day, was Collection 17.
You planned that, didn't you Chris? :)
I wish the Maple Leafs would where the old Toronto St. Pats' jerseys on St. Patrick's day. It would be quite appropriate wouldn't it?
French and Irish — that's a fight right there (Irish would obviously win). Not sure about that last one...
Wow, forgot I ever sent that Wild concept to you. That was one of my first a couple years ago. I'd totally change it a little bit, but the principle would be the same. I think they should have just kept the green in the same style as pre-edge, a la the Houston Aeros
i think the darker wild jersey could work. its a bit basic and could use some waist stripes, but its pretty sharp
Happy St Patricks Day! Now that I am fully recovered... I would have liked to have seen a Maple Leaf Green reminiscent of the Toronto St.Pat's Days... Ducks jersey is sharp, the Devils - a classic. The Kelly Green Wild would do nicely as a throw back, especially if they played in the Outdoor Classic... Wild vs Sharks sporting North Star and Oakland Seals colors would be a cool "Next 6" Game
