0293: Race Car Freak Out

It's another Freak Out Friday, but this may just be stretching the limit of what's considered a hockey concept. Still, when Bryan Dyck sent me these race car designs, they were hard to ignore. Not to worry though, we'll be back to jersey concepts in short order.

0286: Football Freak Out

Brian Brideau has been sending in a lot of NFL/hockey fusion concepts lately. You'll get to see a bunch on Super Bowl Sunday. But I couldn't wait until then to share this one. It's a pretty good joke.

0279: Movember Freak Out

You just had to know something like this was coming. With all the Movember promotions going on around the hockey world, it was only natural for a mustachioed concept to show up here on Icethetics. And thanks to Ryan Yuck for making it weird!

0272: Long Island Freak Out

Ross Taylor is back on Freak Out Friday. Today he's looking at the Islanders and what might happen if they followed their new fellow tenants at the Barclays Center and changed up their color scheme. You'll notice a bit of a callback to this design from back in March.

0251: Monster Freak Out

We wrap up AHL Week on this Freak Out Friday with Brett Ireland's unique take on the Lake Erie Monsters. Here's how he describes it:

This jersey is a mashup of sorts, incorporating two of Cleveland's professional hockey teams. The yoke's a mix of the Crusader's black stripe down the center, and the dashes are lifted from the AHL Baron's old style. The football jersey style crest is also an element lifted from the AHL Barons, a design choice that's truly something from hockey past. The striping pattern is a mimic of the Ohio flag, and lastly I decided that a "faux olde time" choice would be the white nameplate much like the Sabres have.
