It's Sunday morning and that means I just officially tied the knot! Though nothing's really changed. My new wife and I have been together for a long time. This was just a formality, really. Anyway, I'm certain we'll be enjoying ourselves today.
This is the third of five auto-published concept posts — each with it's own theme. We've covered Freak Out Friday and Rebranding. Today our subject is rebranding once again but in the form of Part 5 of Elliott Strauss' NHL rebranding project, featuring the Ducks, Blackhawks and Flyers. Elliott's descriptions appear in bold text.

Anaheim Ducks
This features a new color scheme with a dark shade of green and a brighter orange. The logos are simplified, getting rid of white outlines around the D and the inner webbing. The jerseys have a modern, wavy feel.
The Anaheim Ducks are probably one of the teams most in need of a rebrand. Unfortunately, aside from adding a welcome green to the palette, Elliott hasn't really fixed the main probably — the primary logo. While the D is a refreshing change of pace, I'd really like to see some kind of duck mascot.
Logos aside, the jerseys are very distinctive — just what the doctor ordered when you're talking about a rebrand. Let's hope one day the Ducks do move in this direction — even if it's only on a third jersey.

Chicago Blackhawks
I tweaked the logos by dropping all the excess colors in the feathers. The tertiary color is now an orange-yellow. The jerseys are really just an attempt at consistent striping.
The simplicity in this design actually wins points in my book. While many of you would say the Chicago Blackhawks' logos and uniforms are perfect as is, I would disagree (as you well know).
This simplification of the color palette is a welcome improvement. But while we're at it, I say the Hawks revert back to the old vintage logo found on the Winter Classic and alternate jerseys.

Philadelphia Flyers
Originally this had striping wrapping all the way around the chest, but I simplified things while making the design a little more modern. The logo is NOT the sharp-winged logo that Flyers fans insist on. I figured that since they use the curved wings on all merchandise, it might as well be on the jerseys too. The secondary is the old Zephyr X-line hat logo, I believe.
As mentioned in yesterday's post, Elliott is correct about the F logo on the Zephyr hat. Other than that, he's kept things pretty straightforward and simple.
The one element I really like is the orange numbers on the black third jersey. That is a Halloween jersey if ever I saw one. The striping on the front of the home and road sweaters is a nice change of pace too, yet doesn't lose the classic feel that goes along with the Flyers.

That's actually all I have from Elliott at the moment. I'm anticipating he will send along the other half of the league in the next few weeks. Until then, we have two more auto-posts left before I get back from Las Vegas!

Well, I can definitely say that the Flyers don't need redesigning after they make their Winter Classic jersey they're white. Because then, they've got the greatest throwback jerseys in the NHL. And I don't like the Montreal-esque stripes on the chest.
Now for the Blackhawks, I don't mind the modification of the striping, I'm not going to lie, I kind of like them. But the logo(s) is/are fine as is with the current colors. It doesn't really look like realistic with just red and white.
Now we get to the Ducks, my team...lol. Alright, the idea of orange as the main color is not right to me, gold was meant to be the primary color ever since they were redesigned. The orange on black in the logos doesn't look good at all, and it wouldn't even be readable if you were watching the game. I've said this many times before (only a couple of times on here haha), the D as the main logo would look horrible, it's only good to everyone in concept. It's way to simple and plain, unless you put it on busy jerseys (which I guess you did here, so it looks acceptable). All this being said, I think the home and away jerseys are not good and wouldn't see the light of day, or a rink in this case. The striping just puts it over the top for me (notable mention the the single-pieced numbers that look like logos). The alternate however, you did an excellent job with. With the normal Ducks script logo and the normal font, I'd be one of those in a New York minute.
vegas this weekend? are you at the avn/aee convention or the ces convention? haha
Congrats on getting hitched, dude!
am i the only one who doesnt see any green in the ducks redesign?
Just noticed that Steven, lol.
being a blackhawks fan. i do not agree with what he has done but other than that i like what he did with the flyers and the ducks could use a total revamp like everyone has said
I don't see any green either. Unless that black is a dark, dark, dark shade of green, in which case lightening it up may be in order.
not really thrilled by any of them, to be honest. Maybe a little more detail work would have been good. Otherwise, Congrats on the wedding! Welcome to the married ranks! It really is a blast, don't let all the old tales fool you.
Congrats on getting married!
That Ducks one isn't too shabby, although I can't help be reminded of the Isles' fishsticks jersey by the wavy lines.
The Ducks can use straight lines on that jersey. We don't need to relive, as was mentioned, the old Isles' fisherman jersey. Just... ew. But that third jersey.... reminds me a lot of the Flyers old home jersey with the black and white trims. And that's not a really bad thing. I loved that jersey, but for here, not sure it would work since the Ducks logo would have to be mainly black, and I just don't see that work.
I, as well, don't understand why the Hawks' feathers need be a rainbow of colors. These are solid, but I still don't like the nameplates.
As for the Flyers, my favorite jersey is.... I already said it. Go back to that, and no complaints here.
I HATE the Hawks rebrand HATE IT.....leave the logo alone, and the striping, it makes the jerseys look like the cheapo ones you would find at WalMart or Meijer.
No offense to the creator, but I just think that those Flyers' concepts are really bad. The striping is just awful, although I like the winged-F logo as a shoulder logo.
I think those Ducks concepts are absolutely sick. The design is great and the dark green is a great touch, but I think there is just a little too much orange in it. That's easily fixable though.
Nice work with the Hawks logos. I never liked the multi-colored feathers. But the nameplates and white bottoms on the alternates don't look so good. And the flying F is good. Nice job there too.
The flyers jerseys traditionally have a soild stripe down the arm representing wings
i think the blackhawks one is good but i the u should ad a stripe down the chest and the back with mean hawks logo
please try it
I gotta say, not a huge fan of the Hawks' rebrand. Not just saying that as a Hawks fan either. It honestly doesn't look very good without the extra colors in the logo. Makes the logo look more like an actual Native American. It's hard to explain, meaning, it's 2:50 AM and I'm tired and can't think of words, but, it doesn't look good with 4 feathers that are all virtual clones of the others. It actually kind of makes the logo look incomplete.
I don't love the Flyers home and away but man that is a BADA** 3rd jersey I could really see them busting out on occasion.
