So why not let him take over the Concepts page for a day as well? Here we have his take on a Ducks jersey involving the return of eggplant and that classic duck mask. I still think it's a bit dark with all that black. What about you?

Well, it was hard to work the Dallas Stars into an International Sunday post — so I got as close as I could with the stars and stripes of the United States. Matt McElroy has been working on a series of really great national team sweaters. This is just another example.

Matt McElroy was not thrilled with the Detroit Red Wings' 2014 Winter Classic uniform. That's putting it mildly. He was so disappointed he came up with not one but four different alternatives that could've worked just as well — or even better. And not one features "vintage white."

Interestingly, the design on the upper right (the opposite of the Wings' 2009 Winter Classic jersey) will be worn in the alumni game prior to the Winter Classic next year. So maybe one wish will come true.
