0055: Freak Out Friday the 13th

I know, Ross Taylor's brand-blending series usually occupies this space, but it's Friday the 13th so we're doing something a little different. I don't think Brian Brideau necessarily meant for this concept to conjure Freddy Krueger, but when I saw it, it did. So what do you guys think? A fun one-off for the Preds on Halloween or a future Friday the 13th?

Look familiar? Prolific concept artist Brian Brideau took inspiration from Jean-Sebastien Giguere when designing this Avalanche jersey. It was the Colorado netminder's mask that provided the basic idea. Goalie coach Francois Allaire's son was the man behind the mask design, according to Denver Post writer Adrian Dater.

0018: A Unique All-Star Blend

Long time Icethetics concept artist Brian Brideau is always coming up with unique and inventive uniform designs. This one stuck out to me as one among his very best. He's proposing a new set of a NHL All-Star Game uniforms, probably for 2013 and I think they look simply phenomenal. They're a risky blend of the historical and ultra-contemporary. This set even gives a nice nod to the host, the Columbus Blue Jackets, from the red, blue and silver color scheme, right down to the stars on the jersey cuffs. If this were the real thing, I'd be in line for a Stamkos in a heartbeat.
