Just wondering... why do they have two sets of pants for all of their jerseys?
I don't think it's that they have separate sets of pants. I think it may just be that some players have one logo, some have the other logo. Not sure why, just wanted to make sure that was represented here.
LOVE THE PREDS THIRDS. Also put the avs up already!!!!!!!
I think, with the pant logos, it's possible the manufacturer has some effect on that. I can't tell from that picture if Kostitsyn is wearing Easton pants, and we can't see Erat's Preds logo enough to see if it has the wordmark, but Sullivan's Easton pants have the wordmark, while the pants clearly showing both the team logo and Reebok do not have the Preds wordmark with the logo. (Can't tell the maker on Geoffrion's pants, but it doesn't look like Reebok, and that one also has the wordmark.)
Pants logos haven't always been consistently used. I remember in the early 90s, some Red Wings had a small winged wheel over the CCM Supra logo on their pants, while others with the same make didn't have the logo; other makes varied as well (those wearing Tackla pants generally only had the Tackla logo).
As far as the unis themselves, I go with the general consensus from previous discussions - their thirds are great, mixing classic design with its own unique identity, and it's a crying shame they're not using the white version next year; the regulars are just poor Edgeified mutilations of their originals.
I sure wish the Preds weren't ditching those thirds. They are fantastic!!
Tyler J - I'm sure your refering to the blue and white former Preds alternate uniform pants. The ones with the NP on them were just pant shells they slipped over the normal pants, and I believe for most of last season they didn't wear the pant shells for some reason.
At first I hated the new Preds jerseys but it started to grow on me in the summer. Now I love it and I plan on getting one of the yellows with Weber on the back. The one thing I would change would be to add a cleaned up version of the skull logo to the left shoulder.
These jersey's are an eyesore especially the home one, the yellow is horrible.
I rather like their new kit. I enjoy the nods to Nashville being the "Music City" and I enjoy the golden yellow... At least it's not mustard yellow this time, lol. But either way, it's still a step up from what they were wearing last season. The only thing about these jerseys that I don't particularly like is how the vertical lines cut through the waist stripes.
I think their thirds were the best way to go, but these are ok.
I love the new yellow jerseys. They should've been used as the road jersey and the blue alternate jersey should be used for home games. The new white jerseys don't have enough contrast in them and get washed out against the ice while watching on t.v. I personally like the blue alternates better than the regular home and road jerseys, it's too bad they are going away after this season.
Yellow may be appealing to some, but once it is seen on the ice, it becomes extremely easy to mistake a yellow jersey for a white jersey. From much playing experience, I can say that yellow is the worst color to wear in any team sport: it's blinding and never looks good.
It would've been awesome if Nashville made a yellow version of the navy blue jerseys they just retired for the road and had the navy blues as the home jersey. Don't get me wrong, I think their new jerseys are a unique set and an improvement from last year's set but they do seem like St. Louis Blues knockoffs design wise.
I dont understand why they dropped their thirds when they switched. Such a good looking jersey that also keeps them using all of their colors. Nothing wrong with it
